Watch Face Complications

Complications are small widgets on your watch face that show GLPea information at a glance. No need to open the app—just look at your wrist.

What GLPea Complications Show

Countdown Complication

Shows time until your next dose:

  • Days remaining (when more than 24 hours)
  • Hours remaining (on injection day)
  • "Due Today" indicator
  • Overdue warning if you've missed your window

Protocol Complication

Shows your current medication:

  • Medication name
  • Current dose
  • Compact display for smaller complication spots

Quick Launch Complication

Simple app icon:

  • Tap to open GLPea instantly
  • Good for smaller complication spots
  • Shows GLPea logo

Adding Complications

Method 1: From Watch Face

  1. Press and hold your watch face
  2. Tap Edit
  3. Swipe to the complications page
  4. Tap a complication spot
  5. Scroll to find GLPea
  6. Select the complication type you want
  7. Press Digital Crown to save

Method 2: From iPhone

  1. Open Watch app on iPhone
  2. Tap My WatchMy Faces
  3. Select your watch face
  4. Tap Complications
  5. Choose a spot
  6. Select GLPea complication

Complication Updates

How Often They Update

  • On change: When you log a dose, complication updates
  • Periodically: watchOS refreshes complications throughout the day
  • On wake: Update when you raise your wrist

Why It Might Show Old Data

  • watchOS controls update frequency for battery life
  • Opening the full app ensures current data
  • Complications prioritize battery over real-time accuracy

Multiple Complications

You can add multiple GLPea complications:

Troubleshooting

Complication Not Available

  • Ensure GLPea is installed on Watch
  • Check that you're signed in on iPhone
  • Restart Watch if recently installed

Complication Shows "---" or Blank

  1. Open GLPea on Watch
  2. Wait for data to sync
  3. Complication should update
  4. If not, remove and re-add it

Complication Stopped Updating

  1. Open GLPea on Watch (forces refresh)
  2. Check Watch-iPhone connection
  3. Restart Watch
  4. Remove and re-add complication

Wrong Countdown Displayed

  • Verify your protocol is correct in iPhone app
  • Make sure last dose was logged correctly
  • Open Watch app to force sync

Battery Impact

Complications are designed to be battery-efficient:

  • Updates happen at system-determined intervals
  • No constant polling or GPS
  • Minimal impact on daily battery life

Quick Access Setup

Put the countdown complication in the easiest-to-see spot. Put quick launch in a secondary position for fast app access.

Injection Day Reminder

The complication changing color (or showing "Due Today") serves as a visual reminder without needing notifications.

Multiple Faces

Create a dedicated watch face with GLPea complication for injection days, and switch to it weekly.
